The Bay Blooms competition is an annual horticultural event that encourages residents and businesses to improve the look of their local area.
There are over 20 Categories in the “free to enter” competition, such as Area or Road , Environmentally Friendly Garden , Flat , Community Environment Project , Public House, Hotels, Private Gardens and hanging baskets.
Those residents that gained a first place in each category last year are automatically entered into the Superclass category this year and are unable to enter any of the other categories.
Each entry is individually assessed by the judges during July/early August.
Those entrants obtaining 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Highly Commended awards are invited to the Awards Ceremony in October where the winners are announced on the evening.
The competition is managed by TOR2 and is supported by Torbay Council, Sutton Seeds, Riviera FM, Torbay Town Centres Company and the Herald Express.
The Bay Blooms team are always on the look out for new judges and would welcome anyone who has a keen interest in horticulture to put their name forward.
Entries for this year's competition are now closed.
