Food Complaints

Often consumers purchase food which is contaminated in some way, for example, a foreign body, chemical or bacteriological contamination. The Food Safety Act contains a number of offences that may be relevant to food complaints.
The purpose of investigating food complaints is to, resolve problems that may pose a risk to public health, prevent future complaints, and fulfil the duty of enforcement contained in the Act.
If you have a complaint about an item of food, conditions in food premises or food poisoning please contact us as soon as possible. Where it is appropriate, we will investigate your complaint and provide you with details of our investigation.
For further information on food complaints or to report contaminated food contact the Food Safety Team.
