Brixham Town Plan
Why Produce a Town/Parish Plan?
As part of its policy of 'active citizenship' the Government wants to give more power to local people to decide what's best for their own communities. If we as a community can show that we are taking our future seriously, a Twon/Parish Plan will provide the evidence to help inform policymaking by a range of organisations, from the local planning authority to police and health services. It will also help to develop and maintain effective working relationships with outside bodies that provide services to our community, now or in the future.
Parish and Community Plans, with enthusiasm and determination, can make things happen in our community.
Brixham Town Council and The Community Partnership are commencing a Brixham Parish Plan which will be a document that contains the aspirations, goals and requirements of the entire town. The whole community is to be involved in producing the plan, not just those people who attend Town Council or Community Partnership meetings.
A questionnaire was sent to all Brixham residents in July / August 2008 and from the returned questionnaires, and after a delay due to time constraints, the results have now been published and are below for your information.
