Landscaping

Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance

Torbay’s Parks, Gardens and landscaping displays are integral to creating an attractive environment for our residents and visitors to enjoy.  Each year we strive to maintain and, if possible, improve the many flower and shrub beds across Torbay.
Working alongside our joint venture partner, TOR2 and our grounds maintenance contractor, Glendale we aim to provide a service which can be appreciated by the public.  As part of this we also try to work with local community groups when creating new ideas.
All annual bedding designs for both the summer and winter planting seasons are planned 6-8 months in advance of the planting period for that particular season.  Unfortunately, we are unable to prolong the Spring bedding into the Summer months and we have to start removing plants around the middle/end of May/early June to enable the 100,000 summer bedding plants to be planted.  The re-planting of the beds normally takes between 4-6 weeks, during which time beds are prepared and revitalised for their new bedding. This means that beds can look bare for a few weeks, but this is in readiness for a fantastic display from June – October.
We are fortunate enough to have received Green Flag Awards for a number of our parks this year and hope you enjoy the sights around you.
