Financial Services provides a comprehensive financial management service to all departments of the Council. We aim to 'provide a quality financial support service which effectively, efficiently and economically meets the needs of our customers'. This includes:
- Providing financial advice to all service managers and elected members
- Providing financial advice for strategic planning and policy making to ensure the efficient and effective use of resources
- Provision of financial management information to all service managers
- Co-ordination and preparation of the Council's statutory statement of accounts
- Advice and co-ordination on the effective use of capital and revenue budgets
The Annual Report aims to summarise the Council's Performance in the previous financial year.
Torbay Council along with all local authorities, is now entering the second year of the Government's Comprehensive Spending Review.
Each year the Audit Commission has a responsibility to produce an Annual Audit Letter for Torbay Council.
In order to improve openness and transparency in public spending, all Councils are required to publish details of items of expenditure over £500.
Information on how the Council collects money owed and assists those having problems paying the Council.
The Asset Management Plan (AMP) describes the Council’s policies for developing its land and property assets in order to sustain and improve service delivery.
