Council Tax Recovery

The flowchart below shows what will happen if you don't pay your Council Tax on time.

Council Tax Bill This shows when to  pay each month and  how much is due.THENIf you don’t pay by the due date we  will send you  a reminder.THENIf you pay but are  late with another payment we will send a second reminder.  No further reminders  will be sent.
THENTHEN
If you don’t pay the amount shown on the reminder,  within the time stated installments are cancelled and a Final Notice will  be sent and the full amount is now due.
THEN
If you don’t pay the ful amount you will receive a Court summons. £75 costs will be added to your account.THENA Liability Order will be granted at Court for the  amount owed.l
THEN
The debt may now be passed to a bailiff to collect. You will  have to pay further costs and the bailiff may take your goods  to sell at auctions. OR We can take money straight from your earnings or Benefits.
THEN
Bankruptcy or Charging Order OR Imprisonment
Pay on time by setting up a Direct Debit.
You can pay on the 1st, 15th or 25th of each month or half yearly.
