Library Computers and Internet Access


Computers with internet access are available to use in all 4 libraries in Torbay.
You can also print from the computers. Prints are collected at the desk and are charged at 10p per A4 copy.
Note: Library computers are made available for public use according to the Terms and Conditions of the Public Access IT Service (see Related Documents).

Wi Fi at Paignton Library

Customers can visit Paignton library with their own laptops or other portable devices and link to the internet wirelessly. Library members can enjoy up to an hour’s free Wi-Fi use during their session (1 logon per day using their card number and pin). Non members and visitors can gain WiFi access for up to 30 minutes per day after getting logon details from staff.

For anyone who has never tried using a computer or the internet, our computer tasters will help get you online Our friendly, approachable tutors will give you all the support you need to get started with computers and the internet. We'll guide you through the process at your own pace, and among the tasks we can teach you are:

Internet Basics    Monday 4 February 2013, 14.00 – 17.0    Course fee: £7.50
Learn how to use the keyboard and mouse efficiently, turn a computer on & off correctly and how to access websites and information on the internet.
Email explained    Monday 11 February 2013, 14.00 – 17.00    Course fee: £7.50
The course will include setting up an email address for you if you do not have one already. We will learn how to open, send and reply to emails, add attachments such as photos and CV’s, and how to use and organise your address book.
Digital Photography    Monday 18 February 2013, 14.00 – 17.00    Course fee: £7.50
Learn how to transfer images from your camera/mobile phone to your computer. We will then cover how to name and organise your photos, create and organise folders, deleting, saving and printing photos. The course will also include a brief introduction to photo editing.
