Frequently Asked Questions
I don’t qualify for an assisted collection but I live up/down steps in a flat, what do I do?
If you have applied for an assisted collection and either received a response stating that you are not entitled and/or do not meet the criteria then you will need to use the recycling and waste system as described in your leaflet. If you feel you will struggle with this, you could ask a neighbour to help you.
I have applied for an assisted collection and live on the second floor of a block of 4 flats so the only place I can store my recycling containers is in the flat. Will the collection crews come up to my flat to collect them?
No, even if you have been accepted for an assisted collection, collection crews can’t enter the building to make an assisted collection. If you have not been accepted for an assisted collection then you will need to place your recycling and residual waste in the standard collection point.
